Oops! I forgot to add Bogonia when I first published this newsletter. What category will I put it in? Wade through this massive list (sorry!) and find out!

For me, and according to your ranking system, Bugonia would be a 1.

As a fellow list geek i love your list. Looking forward to checking some of the ones out i haven't seen yet. With those i have seen i mostly agree with your assessment.

I do have one question: I didn't see hardly any movies in the "activism" genre, like How To Blow Up A Pipeline, Battle In Seattle or This Revolution etc.?

Is that because you avoid these? Which i would fully understand and respect. It is a complicated genre.

But in case you don't, i do think that at least the first one i mentioned is quite good (maybe a 2) and the others are at the very least entertaining and thought-provoking.

There is also a German "activism" movie that i can actually recommend: Und morgen die ganze Welt. And a recent German "activism" series that is less so: A Thin Line.

This articles looks at two more films that i have not yet seen, :

For me the best series ever are (0):

L'amica geniale (must-see). The Wire. Firefly. Peaky Blinders. Sense8. (two series that were cancelled after two seasons!)

And in movies (0):

Deprisa, deprisa. Rumble Fish. Slam. Requiem For A Dream. Fallen Angels. (all of them old...)

Also, have you heard of What It Feels Like For A Girl. Loved this little series about the coming of age of a trans woman in northern England.

Thank you for got the list, I would also add how much I enjoyed Yellow Stone , but not 1924 . The Outrun is a really good film as is The Lesson.

Always looking for something to watch and usually just can't suspend my disbelief long enough to take most of what's on offer seriously.

I'll start at the top.
